Intercom Raises $6M in Series A Funding

Intercom, a San Francisco, Calif.-based provider of solutions that monitor user behavior, raised $6m in Series A funding.

The round, which follows an initial $1.75m in seed funding that was raised in 2012 (read here), was led by The Social+Capital Partnership, with participation from Freestyle Capital and David Sacks, founder and CEO of Yammer.

Led by Eoghan McCabe, CEO, Intercom provides a segmentation technology that monitors user behavior and categorizes users, allowing individuals to start personalized conversations with single customers.
It uses a JavaScript integration to connect into websites and apps, letting companies facilitate effective user communication with one tool, replacing helpdesk, CRM, email marketing, and marketing automation tools.
The solution is used by companies like GitHub, Heroku, Bit.ly, and Rackspace.
Intercom has its design and engineering office in Dublin, Ireland.
