20lines Raises €250K in Funding

According to Il Sole 24 Ore, 20lines, a Roncade, Treviso, Italy-based creative writing platform, raised €250k in funding.

United Ventures provided the capital.

The company intends to use the funds to grow the community globally.

Co-founded by Alessandro Biggi, Pietro Pollichieni, Marco Pugliese, and Francesco Scalambrino and incubated in H-Farm, 20lines is a social platform where writers and readers meet and collaborate to create stories. The platform provides writers with writing tool on the web and readers with a free archive of stories. In addition, it helps users find and share books, discover new ones based on their preferences and buy them.

The site currently has 6,500 writers and 30,000 monthly readers.
Earlier in June, popular writer Giorgio Faletti introduced “Ogni luna ha due facce” (Every moon has two faces) on 20lines, a story written in 20 lines that every user can develop by adding 20 lines at the time. In this way the tales will be completed by many authors and thanks to interactions and voting, 20liners will decide the best plot who will become an eBook.
