Dering Hall Raises $1.4M in Seed Funding

According to TechCrunch (read here), Dering Hall, a New York City-based operator of a platform for high-end home design, raised $1.4m in seed funding.

Backers included Softbank Capital, Hearst Corporation, Lerer Ventures, and others.

The company intends to use the capital to extend its presence with designers and customers and develop improved search tools and content.

Founded in 2011 and led by CEO Peter Sallick and Steven Gambrel, Dering Hall is an online marketplace for interior designers, architects, artisans, and design galleries to sell new home furnishings and accessories. The service provides designers with permanent storefronts where they can present an assortment of products to shoppers.
Designers come from several cities across the USA, from Canada and UK.
