According to the company’s blog (read here), Box acquired the technology of Folders, a mobile app that provides a file manager for the cloud.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
Developed in France by Martin Destagnol, Folders features a PDF viewer, a music player, a code viewer, tools to open Office documents, a plain text and markdown editor, preview photos and videos.
Box intends to leverage Folders and Crocodoc, which it has recently acquired, to accelerate its next phase of growth both in the U.S. and abroad.
