Walkbase Closes Seed Funding

Walkbase, a Turku, Finland-based retail analytics company, closed a seed round of funding.

The round was led by Russian investors Leonid Volkov and Leonid Gluzman and Finnish Jan Blomquist, member of the board of Life, a Nordic region’s retail chain for health food, wellness and lifestyle products.

Led by CEO Tuomas Wuoti, Walkbase provides retail analytics solutions that are designed to enable retailers in the fashion, travel, telecoms industries to optimize sales conversions by understanding the impact of marketing and operations on customers in their stores. The company’s sensor solution anonymously monitors consumer Wi-Fi traffic, analyzes it and then provides aggregate non-personal data to retailers in an online dashboard.

Walkbase also launched – as a beta product – its new service integrated with Google Analytics that allows retailers, agencies and brands to measure click-through for online campaigns and match that with foot traffic patterns at physical retail stores.

Th company is an alumnus of Aalto University’s Startup Sauna accelerator program.
