PICT Raises $1.4M in Seed Funding

According to the company’s blog, PICT, a San Francisco, CA-based mobile and web application that allows brands to create content-rich, shoppable photos, raised $1.4m in seed funding.

Backers included Lowercase Capital, Forerunner Ventures, Steven Alan, Opus Capital, AngelPad, 500 Startups, Gary Vaynerchuk, Scott Belsky, and Seth Berman, among others.

The company intends to use the capital to hire new people (read here) to continue to develop the platform.

Co-founded by CEO Brent Locks and CCO Kele Dobrinski, PICT officially released its private beta, PICT allows brands to create shoppable photos, which are shareable to social networks. The platform integrates with brands’ eCommerce platforms to provide simple product tagging and analytics to see which photos and products are generating the most revenue and driving the most engagement.
