M-Files Closes €6m Series A Funding Round


M-Files Corporation, a Dallas, TX-based provider of enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, closed a €6m round of Series A funding.

The investment was led by DFJ Esprit, with participation from Finnish Industry Investment. In conjunction with the funding, technology veterans Jim Geary and Bob Suh, and DFJ Esprit’s Mikko Suonenlahti joined M-Files’ Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its growth plans in the US and expand its sales and marketing efforts through a worldwide partner channel, while also penetrating its focus on compliance in select vertical industries.

Led by Miika Mäkitalo, CEO, M-Files develops cloud, on-premise, and hybrid enterprise content management (ECM) solutions that allow businesses to manage, secure and share information with a metadata-driven approach that organizes and processes content based on what it is, rather than where it resides. The company’s services are used by thousands of businesses in over 100 countries, including companies such as AstraZeneca, SAS, Pandora, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Northrop Grumman Corporation, Charles Schwab, Hecla Mining, Elekta, Hill + Knowlton.
