Soldsie Raises $1M in Seed Funding

Soldsie, a San Francisco, Californiabased service that enables purchases within comments on Facebook, raised $1m in seed funding.

Backers included 500 Startups, e.ventures, FundersClub, Yun-Fang Juan, Jonathan Ehrlich, Prosper Nwankpa, Elliot Loh and Tom Kelly.

Led by Chris Bennett, CEO, Soldsie allows brands, merchants and small business owners to use Facebook’s social features to increase online sales. The company’s technology aims to turn Facebook posts into digital shopping carts.
Once a user has registered with Soldsie’s app, commenting with the word “Sold” lets them purchase the item posted. On the backend, Soldsie’s platform completes the transaction and gives businesses an interface for processing and tracking sales (via credit card or PayPal).
Since its launch in May 2012, more than 100,000 Facebook users have registered with Soldsie’s app.

The company is hiring (read here).
