Rev.com Raises $4.5M in Series A Financing

Rev.com, A San Francisco, CA-based marketplace platform for freelancers, raised $4.5m in Series A financing.

The round was led by Globespan Capital, with participation from Craig Sherman (former COO of Ancestry.com) and Austin Ligon (co-founder of CarMax). Venky Ganesan, partner at Globespan Capital, joined the company’s board.

Founded in 2010 and led by Jason Chicola, CEO, Rev is a services marketplace that works with selected freelancers to deliver services to businesses. Its first two services are audio transcription and document translation.
The company choose the workers, manages the project, and guarantees quality.
Clients include business, legal and government and range from reporters who need an interview transcript to marketing departments that need to translate press releases.
