Moovweb Receives $16M Financing

Moovweb, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of business agility solutions to go mobile, received a $16m first financing.

Backers include Jafco Ventures and Trinity Ventures and existing investor Andy Bechtolsheim.

Led by founder and CEO Ajay Kapur, Moovweb provides developers, design agencies and systems integrators with a cloud-based platform that offers a set of tools to shorten delivery times for mobile sites and native apps.
Macy’s, 1-800-FLOWERS.com, Sur la Table, Golfsmith, Vitacost, Kroger, Accenture, Cox Communications, Chico’s, Sharpie have used the company’s platform for their mobile sites, apps and tablet applications.

Moovweb also added industry operations and finance veteran Tony Russo as its new chief operating and financial officer.

In conjunction with the funding, Joe Horowitz, managing general partner at Jafco and Paul Sallaberry, an executive who held senior roles at Veritas and Oracle, joined the company’s Board of Directors. Gus Tai from Trinity will be added as a Board observer.
