EmiSense Technologies, LLC, a California and Utah-based company that develops smart sensors for clean emissions, closed its US$6.5m third round of funding.
The round was led by strategic investor 9th Street Investments.
The company intends to use the capital to launch products, continue research and development, and support validation testing with global customers.
Founded in 2009 and led by Patrick Thompson, CEO, EmiSense is developing improved electrostatic Particulate Matter (PM, or soot) sensors, simplified NOx (oxides of nitrogen, or smog) sensors, exhaust and intake oxygen sensors, and hydrocarbon sensors.
Applications include both on-road and off-road clean diesel demand, as well as direct-injected gasoline engines.
