Practice Fusion Acquires 100Plus

Practice Fusion, a free, web-based electronic medical record (EMR) platform, acquired 100Plus, a personalized health prediction startup that uses data analytics and game mechanics to show how small changes in behavior can lead to a better life.

The acquisition (whose amount was not disclosed) aims to allow Practice Fusion to develop patient-facing tools using clinical data to provide health insights.

Founded in 2011, 100Plus developed an app that showcased the impact of alcohol consumption on lifespan. Its second app, currently in beta, helps users discover, track and see the long-term impact of small health behaviors. The startup began as a member of Practice Fusion’s health technology incubator in San Francisco, along with doctor-patient connection service Ringadoc.

The 100Plus team will join Practice Fusion full-time as members of the data and product development groups. Chris Hogg, CEO and co-founder, will be taking on a leadership role as Associate Vice President of Data Science.
