PeopLease Receives Equity Investment from Transportation Industry Veterans

PeopLease Corporation, a Charleston, South Carolina-based PEO (Professional Employer Organization) that focuses on meeting the needs of business owners in the trucking and transportation industry, raised new equity funding.

Backers included industry veterans Chris Munro, Marc Kramer and Mitch Poole, who joined the new leadership team. Following the investment, whose amount remained undisclosed, Mitch Poole will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer, Chris Munro will assume the responsibility of Chairman of the Board, and Marc Kramer will serve on the Board of Directors.

The company plans to use the capital for people and technology investment, expands the service offerings to customers and provides the opportunity to serve other employee groups related to the transportation industry.

Founded by D. W. Speer and Chuck Schellenger, who will continue to facilitate the execution of the strategy and vision, PeopLease provides human resources administrative services, workers compensation insurance and risk management services to the trucking industry nationwide, with over 11,000 work site employees.
