Lux Capital Closes Third Fund at $245M

Venture capital firm  closed its third fund at $245m.

Limited partners include global foundations, endowments, financial institutions, fund-of-funds, corporations, and family offices.

Lux Ventures III focuses on seed energy, technology and health care companies, making investments of $100k and up, committing as much as $15m over the life a company. It also focuses on special situations and corporate spinouts.
To date, the fund has backed Gridco Systems, Kymeta, Kyruus, and Shapeways.

Led by general partners Josh Wolfe and Adam Kalish, and venture partners Jeff Kindler, Jim Woolsey, and Richard Foster, Lux Capital is based in NYC and recently opened a new office in Palo Alto.
