Julep Raises $10.3M in Series B Financing

Julep Beauty Incorporated, a Seattle, WA-based beauty brand, raised $10.3m in Series B financing.

The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from existing investor Maveron, Troy Carter, Precedent Investments, Roc Nation, Western Technology Investments and Version One Ventures.

The company intends to use the capital to further grow in the major categories of skin care and color cosmetics, which launches planned for 2013 and 2014.

Led by Jane Park, CEO and founder, Julep has grown as a multichannel beauty brand fueled by digital and social media. The company offers the Julep Mavens program, a monthly beauty subscription service that allows consumers to engage directly through new product trial and online discussions.
It also launched on QVC and in Sephora nationwide.

In addition to the funding, Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Zillow.com, joined Julep’s Board of Directors.
