Gild, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of talent acquisition tools, raised $8m Series A venture capital funding.

The round was led by Steve Anderson of Baseline Ventures, with participation from SAP Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, and Mark Kvamme.

The company intends to use the capital to expand the technology and accelerate product innovation.

Co-founded in 2011 by CEO Sheeroy Desai and CTO Luca Bonmassar, Gild aims to bring meritocracy to the hiring world. It leverages patent-pending technology to evaluate the work of developers so clients  using its talent acquisition tools know who’s good and can target the right candidates.
