Elasticsearch Secures $24M in Series B Financing

Elasticsearch, an Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based developer of a real-time search and analytics open source project, secured $24m in Series B financing.

The round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from existing investor Benchmark Capital and new investor SV Angel.

The company intends to use the capital to hire new people (read here).

Founded in 2012 and led by Steven Schuurman, CEO, and Shay Banon, CTO, Elasticsearch provides an advanced open source search and analytics engine that enables users to explore real-time data. It has approximately 200,000 downloads per month and a total of two million downloads to date. The company also offers training and consulting in various phases of the development and deployment stages.
