Codenvy Closes $9M Venture Capital Financing

Codenvy (formerly known as Exo IDE), a San Francisco, CA-based cloud platform for coding, building, and testing apps, closed a $9m first venture capital financing.

The round was led by Toba Capital, with participation from Auriga Partners and a number of angels.

The company intends to use the capital to accelerate growth and hire new employees (read here).

Led by Tyler Jewell, CEO, Codenvy provides developers with a cloud environment for coding, building, and testing applications. The company currently has 50,000 registered developers. Integrated partners include GitHub, RedHat Openshift, Google App Engine, Amazon Web Services BeanStalk, VMWare CloudFoundry, Heroku, AppFog, CloudBees and ZeroTurnaround.
The solution is free for public projects, and has a monthly subscription for private projects and those that require larger builder and tester resources. The company also offers Codenvy Enterprise, a private cloud installation for organizations with strict compliance requirements.
