Mirantis Closes $10M Financing

Mirantis, a Mountain View, California OpenStack® systems integrator, closed $10m in growth capital financing.

Backers included Dell Ventures, Intel Capital and WestSummit Capital.

The company intends to use the proceeds from the investment to accelerate their growth in the OpenStack market.

Led by Adrian Ionel, president and CEO, and Boris Renski, co-founder and executive vice president, Mirantis delivers OpenStack cloud and open source application infrastructure. Its focus is vendor-independent cloud implementation uncompromised by opaque hooks or proprietary packaging. The company, which was an early OpenStack advocate, since the open source project was introduced in 2010, and recently joined Dell and Intel as founding members of the new OpenStack Foundation. In order to expand the pool of skilled engineering talent and expertise in OpenStack and accelerate the adoption of its clouds by service providers, SaaS vendors, and enterprises, Mirantis also offers a training program.
Customers include Cisco, Dell, GE, Agilent, NASA, HP, AT&T, The Gap, Axcient and Nexenta.

The company has engineering centers in Russia and Ukraine.
