KnowRe Closes $1.4M Funding

KnowRe, a New York, NY-based education technology company developing an online adaptive learning service for mathematics, closed a $1.4m funding round with SoftBank Ventures Korea.

The company intends to use the capital to continue developing proprietary content and technology.

Co-founded by YJ Kim, CEO, and David Joo, COO, KnowRe develops an online adaptive learning service for mathematics. It can assess an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, personalize a curriculum for each student’s focus areas and engage students through game-like features, graphics and social learning.
The company plans to launch their open beta service in the US during the first quarter of 2013.

KnowRe recently received Grand Prize by Google and Korean governmental agencies (KISA and KCC) at Global K-Startup, a competition aimed at supporting the next generation of global-ready startups. The company is also a member of the first class of SparkLabs, a startup accelerator supporting Korean entrepreneurs looking to grow outside of Korea.
