DB Networks Raises $4.5M in Series B Funding

DB Networks, a San Diego, CA-based provider of a security platform for real-time advanced database attack detection, raised $4.5m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Khosla Ventures and Shirish Sathaye, general partner at Khosla, has joined the company’s board.

DB Networks intends to use the capital to roll out the product and expand its sales efforts.

Led by Brett Helm, CEO, the company commercializes the DB Networks Adaptive Database Firewall, which detects SQL Injection and database Denial of Service attacks. While other database security solutions require user customization, as well as white list/black list maintenance, the DB Networks’firewall automatically learns each applications proper SQL transaction behavior. Any SQL transaction which deviates from the model raises an alarm as an attack.
