ArthroCAD Closes Series A Funding

ArthroCAD, Inc., a Ayer, Massachusetts based developer of medical devices, closed a Series A funding.

The amount was not disclosed.

Backers included Edgar D. Jannotta, Jr., who joined the company’s board. Mr. Jannotta served until March 2011 as a Principal at GTCR, a Chicago based private equity firm, and is currently investing personal funds in private companies and real estate.

Co-founded by PJ Anand, Chairman, Mehran Aghazadeh, inventor of the technology, ArthroCAD focuses on developing solutions to improve surgical outcomes for patients undergoing joint replacement procedures.

The company intends to use the capital to develop their lead product for the Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) market.
