Terranova Secures $1.05M in Seed Funding

Terranova, Inc., a Chicago, IL-based technology startup that is developing a personal assistant app, has secured $1.05m in seed funding and technology support.

Backers were not disclosed.

The company intends to use the funding to launch the app for iPhone and Android devices, the web, and Google Glass.

Founded in 2012 by CEO George Stoikos and Andy Stankiewicz, Terranova allows users to speak or type what they want to do and connects with the nearest, most relevant people, places, and events. The app, which uses a natural language user interface, is powered by a contextual, computationally efficient learning algorithm.
Terranova will launch a private beta program for its iPhone, Android, and web app in early 2013.
