Zoomdata, Inc., a Reston, Va.-based big data visualization startup, has raised $1.1m in seed funding.
Backers include advisor Hemang Gadhia, former Founder & CEO, Condaptive (acquired by Millennial Media), among other angel and institutional investors.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its seven person engineering team to drive product innovation.
Led by founder & CEO Justin Langseth, Zoomdata is a next generation real-time big data visualization application that helps business analysts combine multiple data streams and share their work using real-time interactive visualizations on tablet, web, and TV devices. It is currently deployed in beta at several top-tier customers.
The company currently employs 12 people.
