VerbalizeIt, Inc., a New York City-based company that delivers real-time access to human translators, has raised $1.5m in equity funding.
The backers were not disclosed.
Led by Ryan Frankel, CEO, VerbalizeIt provides operates a crowdsourced community of human translators that businesses and consumers can access by phone, Skype, web browser and API-powered connections. It offers multidirectional translation between English and Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, French, German, Spanish and Hindi, as well as non-live translation solutions, including document transcription, audio and video translation and subtitling.
