TranscribeMe Raises $900K in Angel Funding

TranscribeMe, an Emeryville CA, Auckland, New Zealand, and Singapore-based provider of a speech to text platform, has raised $900k in angel funding.

Backers include investors from Tech Coast Angels, Sierra Angels, TEC Ventures, ICE Angels, Keiretsu and Maverick Angels.

The company, which has now raised $1.5m to date, intends to use the funding to continue to grow.

Led by CEO Alexei Dunayev, TranscribeMe leverages speech recognition algorithms and crowd-sourced transcribers working from around the world to provide a platform that converts audio and video into searchable and shareable text. It integrates with Evernote, Livescribe and select VoIP providers.
Customers include medical professionals, corporations, conferences, writers, podcasters and academics.
