Pirq, a Kirkland, WA-based platform that delivers instant deals and rewards at local businesses to consumers via mobile phone, has closed a $1.2m second venture capital funding.
The funding was provided by Rally Capital.
The company also released its updated mobile app, which is available for public download for both Android and iPhone users. The updated app includes several new features such as digital punch cards for consumers to earn rewards, as well as new vertical categories (beauty, retail, service, and recreation) beyond restaurants.
Pirq has also added a patent-pending SMS text message component so that all consumers with any type of mobile phone can accumulate loyalty punches and earn rewards via sending a simple text message.
Led by James Sun, CEO, Pirq partners with merchants in the Silicon Valley and Seattle area including Metamorphosis Salon in San Jose, Aurora’s Massage Therapy in Santa Clara, Rock Star Tan Bar in Bothell, Extreme Pita in Kent and Bothell, and Dairy Queen in Edmonds.
