MAZ Digital Raises $1M Seed Funding

MAZ Digital, a Pleasantville, NY-based digital publishing platform for tablet and mobile devices, has raised $1m seed funding.

The round was led by Expansion Venture Capital, with participation from MI Ventures, T5 Capital, and Amer Rehman of YFT Ventures.

The company intends to use the capital to scale up the company by expanding the team (http://www.mazdigital.com/jobs), building new products and ramping up sales and marketing efforts.

Led by Paul Canetti, CEO, Simon Baumer, CIO, and Shikha Arora, CTO, MAZ provides a cloud-based digital publishing platform that allows publishers to create rich digital experiences for their readers and distribute to and manage their own tablet apps without having to hire a developer.
The company recently launched “Clippings”,” a new social media tool that allows readers to clip any piece of content on the screen (using the touch of two fingers) and share it via email, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest app.
Over 100 publications currently use the MAZ platform including Inc. Magazine, General Electric, and European giant Hubert Burda Media.
