DataSift, a San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Reading, U.K.-based provider of a social data platform company, has received $15m in Series B funding.
The round was led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from current investors GRP Partners and IA Ventures, and new investors Northgate Capital and Daher Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Rory O’Driscoll, Managing Director with ScaleVP, has joined the company’s board.
Launched in 2011, and led by Nick Halstead, Founder and CTO, and Rob Bailey, CEO, DataSift provides a social data platform, which is designed to enable companies to aggregate, filter and extract insights and trends from public social conversations on Twitter, social networks and other sources.
The company now has almost 300 corporate customers, including Fortune 500 and social technology companies, news organizations, consulting companies, and government agencies.
