RainStor Raises $12M in Series C Funding


RainStor, a San Francisco, USA and Gloucester, UK-based provider of database solutions for Big Data, has raised $12m in Series C funding.

Backers include Credit Suisse and Rogers Venture Partners as well as existing investors Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures, Storm Ventures and The Dow Chemical Company.

The company intends to use the capital to accelerate engineering, and expand its team across direct and indirect sales and marketing.

Led by John Bantleman, CEO, RainStor provides organizations in financial services, government, communications and other sectors with management software to keep and access limitless amounts of data for as long as they want. Customers can deploy RainStor across a variety of scalable hardware platforms including SAN, NAS, CAS in addition to Cloud and operates natively on Apache Hadoop.
RainStor’s partners include Amdocs, Anritsu, AdaptiveMobile, Dell, HP, Qosmos and Teradata.
