Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq “MSFT”) has acquired StorSimple Inc., a Santa Clara, CA-based provider of cloud-integrated storage solutions for Windows.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
The acquisition aims to advance Microsoft’s Cloud OS vision and help customers embrace hybrid cloud computing.
Founded by CEO Ursheet Parikh, StorSimple integrates offers a single appliance that delivers local and cloud storage, live archiving, cloud-based data protection and disaster recovery. The company is venture backed (read here)
