Hungama.com, a Mumbai, India-based digital entertainment company, has received an equity investment from Intel Capital.
The amount of the deal remained undisclosed but it is known that the investment is part of a €40m sum Intel Capital invested in 10 innovative companies worldwide.
Launched as a brand promotions website in 1999, Hungama.com operates an on-demand digital entertainment storefront with over 2.5 million pieces of content across genres and languages in the form of music tracks, movies, music videos and mobile content.
Hungama Movies has more than 5,000 Bollywood, Hollywood and regional movies and television series available in both HD and SD quality, powered by Intel® Insider™.
The Web site is accessible from PCs, mobile phones, tablets, TVs and other connected devices.
The company employs employs over 500 employees in five countries.
