Dobango, a Sunnyvale, CA-based social marketing platform for Pinterest, has raised $600k in seed funding.
The company intends to use the funds to differentiate from other early movers on Pinterest by focusing solely on marketing campaigns beyond analytics.
Led by Nexage founder Devkumar Gandhi, Dobango helps brands monetize and run social marketing campaigns on Pinterest (http://www.dobango.com/pinterest), even though the content sharing service itself has yet to launch its own API. Dobango allows brands to create a contest page for consumers to post content. Its social marketing platform automatically pins users’ content to the brand’s Pinterest page and synchronize data from the service to track contest progress and notify winners of daily prizes.
According to a written statement, the platform has helped Outta the Park BBQ Sauce grab the attention of 176 influential food bloggers, some of which have up to 8,000 followers.
