BuzzMob Raises $2M in Funding

BuzzMob, a San Francisco, CA-based crowd engagement app, has raised $2m in funding.

The round was led by Craig Cogut, founder and managing partner of Pegasus Capital Advisors.

The company intends to use the funding to accelerate its focus on partnerships with event organizers, brands and venues, including stadiums and arenas, professional and collegiate sports, live music events, etc.

Launched in 2011 and led by Jeff Jackel, CEO, BuzzMob uses GPS-enabled smartphones to deliver real-time content curated for sporting events, concerts, festival, and conventions, and to connect on-site and virtual attendees.
Originally funded with a $600k angel round, the company provides a mobile app, which is available for download on Apple iOS and Android. It is currently hiring (http://www.buzzmob.com/jobs).
