Zendesk Raises $60M; Prepares for IPO

According to multiple reports, Zendesk, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based provider of cloud customer service software, has raised $60m (approximately €46.4m) in financing.

The round was led by Redpoint Ventures, with participation from GGV Capital, Goldman Sachs, Charles River VenturesIndex VenturesSilicon Valley Bank, Benchmark Capital and Matrix Parnters.

The company intends to use the capital to continue to expand abroad and prepare for an IPO.

Founded in 2007 by CEO Mikkel Svane, Alexander Aghassipour, and Morten Primdahl, Zendesk provides an integrated on-demand helpdesk – customer support portal solution with social media integration, as well as customer satisfaction ratings and analytics.

Implemented in Ruby on Rails, the product offers integration to a company’s online customer-facing web presence, including hosted support email-ticket integration, online forums, RSS and widgets. It is used by more than 15,000 organizations worldwide.
