Voiturelib, a Paris, France-based P2P car sharing service, has raised €2m (approximately $2.6m) in Series A financing.
The round was led by Alven Capital, with participation from Index Ventures.
Accoridng to reports, the company intends to use the capital to further develop its platform, launch mobile apps and enhance security.
Launched in December 2010 by CEO Paulin Dementhon and Voiturelib has allowed car owners to rent out 5,000 cars to 50,000 users across several French cities (http://www.voiturelib.com/toutes-les-villes).
