With an initial investment of €68m, Telefónica has launched an international network of technology venture capital funds.
Promoted by Telefónica Digital, Amérigo is expected to finance innovative businesses in the digital space globally, particularly outside of the main centres of VC activity, such as Silicon Valley and London.
The initiative, which is open to the participation of other companies and institutions, both public and private, starts its activity with a capital of about €300m.
These initial resourcers will allow managing business projects with an aggregated estimated value of €1 billion, focusing on Spain, Colombia, Chile and Brazil.
