Carbon Design Systems Receives $4M from Samsung Venture Investment
Carbon Design Systems Inc., an Acton, Mass.-based supplier of virtual platform and secure model solutions, has received $4m in funding from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.
The company intends to use the capital as working capital and support the ongoing development of tools in the electronic system level (ESL) design space, including its virtual prototypes.
Led by Rick Lucier, president and CEO, Carbon Design Systems offers a unified virtual prototype solution along with a tool for accurate IP model creation. Customers include systems, semiconductor, and IP companies that focus on wireless, networking, and consumer electronics.
The companies have also entered into a strategic partnership. Commenting on it, Jung Ho Kim, an investment manager at Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, said: “The strategic partnership will offer Samsung a way to more broadly expand and fast track adoption of ESL tools”.
