Zscaler Raises $38M in Funding

Zscaler, a San Jose, CA-based cloud security company, has raised $38m in funding.

Backers include strategic investors, including Lightspeed Ventures.

The company intends to use the capital to use the new funding to further accelerate its sales and marketing efforts, and develop its cloud security offering with an emphasis on mobility.

Led by CEO Jay Chaudhry, Zscaler provides a single, cloud-delivered solution (the Zscaler Global Security Cloud) that enables IT organizations to secure users on any device, anywhere in the world. It replaces many different point security products and eliminates the need to reroute traffic to a central location or to proliferate costly appliances in multiple locations. With over 100 data centers worldwide, it processes over 5 billion transactions a day with near-zero latency to secure and manage the traffic on any device of over 8 million users in 160 countries.

Customers include more than 2,500 global enterprises.

The company is a founding member of the Cloud Security Alliance.
