S4 Worldwide LLC, a Doylestown, Penn.-based provider of mobile, real-time situational-awareness technologies derived from proven military applications for use in the private sector, has raised $250k in funding from Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
The company intends to use the capital for market expansion.
Led by Gary Uphouse, CEO, and Paul Soult, president and co-founder, S4 Worldwide provides the SENTRY System that leverages proven military technology to monitor issues or conditions that affect productivity and profitability, and support compliance with environmental and regulatory mandates. The product relies on solar power to extend service life for years. Customers can receive updates using satellite, cellular, Wi-Fi, and terrestrial radio or microwaves with information being delivered to their computer, tablet or smartphone through a secured data center.
The SENTRY system is experiencing adoption in the areas of oil and gas drilling and exploration, mass transportation, renewable energy, power utilities and commercial construction.
