Ploonge Raises €300K in Venture Capital Funding

Ploonge, a Milan, Italy-based social dining marketplace, has raised €300k in venture capital funding from an undisclosed fund.

The company, which previously raised €30K from a business angel, intends to use the funding to rework on the product, improving its design and user experience, and afterwards starting to promote it.

Founded by Alessandro Coscia and Giorgio Bertolini, Ploonge allows users to meet new people while enjoying food. People can choose their dinner, brunch or lunch in a restaurant or in a private house and the service take care of money transaction fees, customer support, refunds, marketing, etc., taking a service fee of 20% in private locations.
It is available in Milano, Roma, Ferrara, Bologna, Napoli, Torino, Palermo, Genova, Firenze, Bari, Venezia, Catania, Varese, Como and Berlin, Germany.
