NoWait Raises $2M in Series A Funding

NoWait, a Pittsburgh, PA-based operator of a iOS restaurant seating app, has raised $2m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Birchmere Ventures, with participation from Sand Hill Angels and other strategic and existing investors.

Led by CEO Robb Myer, NoWait allows no-reservation restaurant to streamlines operations and owners optimize turnover while liberating diners from queues. It is available for Apple iPads, iPhones and iPod touch devices.
Once a diner enters the restaurant, the host inputs the customer’s name and cell number into an iPad running the NoWait Host app. Within seconds, guests receive a message indicating the wait time until their table is available. If they have a smartphone, the system will send both a text and a link to “What’s my Place”, a feature that indicates the estimated wait, but also a diner’s position in line.
Once the table is ready, the diner receives a text to return to the restaurant to be seated without delay.
Clients include Comal in Berkeley, CA, Barley Swine in Austin, TX, and Nicli Antica Pizzeria in Vancouver, BC.
