MedaPhor Raises £1.06M in Funding

MedaPhor, a Cardiff, UK-based e-learning company which produces innovative training products for postgraduate medical professionals, has raised £1.06m in equity funding.

Backers include Fusion IP (AIM: FIP), which invested £300k, Finance Wales, which converted existing loan notes of £150k and invested a further £300k, and IP Group (AIM: IPO), which invested £450k.

The company intends to use the capital to expand its US and European based sales, as well as accelerate the development of its ScanTrainer product range into general medical training.

Led by Stuart Gall, CEO, MedaPhor provides postgraduate medical professionals with innovative training products such as advanced tutorials for learning or improving ultrasound examination technique. Its ScanTrainer is a virtual “real feel” ultrasound-training simulator that provides students with a 24/7, educationally driven, training programme that replicates a real ultrasound scanning experience.
