by FinSMEs on August 6, 2012

Lemur Technologies, Inc., an Arlington, Virginia-based provider of software platform that allows retailers to localize inventory and customer information to optimally price product and communicates with local, targeted, and engaged customers in real-time, has received a venture capital investment from Piedmont Investment Advisors, LLC.

Piedmont made the investment, whose amount was not disclosed, through its affiliate Militello Capital.

Lemur intends to use the proceeds from the investment to continue to grow.

Co-founded by CEO Will Fuentes and COO Cary Scott, the company provides retailers with its Lemurâ„¢ Inventory Management System (IMS) that – combining inventory and local customer data – enables them to develop a one-to-one relationship with customers and make intelligent discount adjustments based on available data.

Blackhawk differentiates itself from other private equity firms in that investments are normally offered individually to very affluent family offices on a deal-by-deal basis – a model that reflects our preferences for investment discretion, where many high-net-worth investors are hands-on business owners themselves.
