Pinfluencer Raises $1.4M in Seed Funding

Pinfluencer, a San Mateo, CA-based big-data analytics and discovery marketing engine for the Pinterest platform, has raised $1.4m in seed funding.

The round was led by Freestyle Capital and Baseline Ventures, with participation from angel investors Jesse Engle (former CEO and co-founder of CoTweet) and Mark Ghermezian (owner of Mall of America), among others.

The company intends to use the capital to expand the engineering, sales and marketing teams, as well as to develop additional platform enhancements and campaign capabilities.

Led by Sharad Verma, CEO, Pinfluencer provides scalable, cloud-based data engine that allows retailers, brands and publishers to capture comprehensive data generated daily by ‘pins’ and ‘repins’. It has emerged from private beta and announced its official debut.
Dozens of organizations have already been using Pinfluencer as early adopters, including: 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, GNC, HauteLook, Piperlime (a division of Gap Inc.), Rent the Runway, Minted, Beau-coup, Shop It To Me; and wikiHow.
