MicroVentures Launches Facebook Game Investor Challenge

MicroVentures, a US equity crowdfunding platform, has launched a Facebook game in which real startups like AirBnB, Etsy, and Pinterest compete for a player’s virtual investment.

In MicroVentures Investor Challenge real startups face off in six weekly rounds and players are in the role of venture capitalist, with $1m “microbucks” to invest in their favorites. The startup that commands the most total investment from players advances to the next round where it faces off against a new opponent.
At the end of the tournament, one startup and one investor emerge victorious.

Developed in partnership with gamification company Zobee, the game is risk free without real money involved. Anyways, players can win $250 in real cash each week for picking winning companies. In September the overall winner will receive a MacBook Air and a new tournament is slated to begin shortly thereafter.

Founded and led by CEO Bill Clark, MicroVentures is an equity crowdfunding platform that connects investors with early stage investment opportunities.
