Cross Match Technologies, a Palm Beach Gardens, FL-based provider of interoperable biometric identity management systems, applications, and services, has been acquired by technology-focused private equity firm Francisco Partners.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the proceeds from the investment to further develop its technologies.
Founded in 1996, and led by President and CEO David Buckley, Cross Match offers a wide range of multimodal biometric solutions, which are used to capture and process the unique physiological characteristics of individuals to verify their identities.
The company has more than 5,000 customers worldwide and over 250,000 products deployed in over 80 countries.
Customers include the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. State Department and various state and local governments, foreign governments and law enforcement agencies, as well as organizations in the transportation, critical infrastructure, financial services, education, and healthcare sectors.
