Yodo1 Raises $2M in Seed Funding from Chang You Fund

Yodo1, a Beijing, China-based company that helps Western game developers bring smartphone games and apps to the Chinese market, has raised $2m in seed funding from Chang You Fund.

Founded in 2011 by a team of experienced entrepreneurs with over 20 years experience in digital media and led by CEO Henry Fong, Yodo1 helps Western game developers bring iOS and Android mobile games to China via its Yodo1 API platform, which is designed to simplify game localization, payment, ad network integration and promotions.
The company is also announcing its latest partnership with Robot Entertainment to bring its game “Hero Academy” to Chinese consumers, managing the entire market entry process, from localization and cultural adaptation of the game, to handling local licensing requirements, creating additional monetization mechanics, and protecting the game’s IP in the country’s massive but often chaotic mobile marketplace.

Andy Lee, formerly managing director for Asia at top San Francisco-based social game developer Kabam, recently joined Yodo1 as an advisor.
