Soundrop, an Oslo, Norway-based social music destination, has completed a $3m funding with Northzone.
In conjunction with the funding, Torleif Ahlsand from Northzone will join Soundrop’s board.
Led by CEO & Co-Founder Inge Sandvik, Soundrop allows users to create a social listening room with favorite songs, or join a public rooms to experience music with fans from around the world. It is currently one of the most popular and fastest growing applications in Spotify’s App Finder. In the past month, the service has opened official rooms for artists including Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and The Fray, The Smiths, Iron Maiden, Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso, Carl Cox, Silversun Pickups, Sigur Rós, One Direction, among others.
