ColorModules Inc., a NYC-based provider of a visual recommendation engine focused on color matching, has raised $1.3m in Series A financing.
The round was led by Golden Seeds.
Founded in 2010 by CEO Asmau Ahmed, also led by Director of R&D, Abhijit Sarkar; and Chief Creative Officer, Paul Krygowski, ColorModules offers a visual product recommendation engine that provides instant personal recommendations to shoppers using their photos, whether they are shopping for beauty, fashion or home decor. Its first website, PlumPerfect.com (http://www.plumperfect.com/), is for the beauty shopper. From a facial photo, this patent-pending technology analyzes the color of skin, hair, eyes and lips, to make exacting color recommendations for cosmetics.
The company intends to use the funding to develop its consumer engagement services for brand and retail partners, to expand its marketing efforts and global user base.
